We are strengthening our Legal & Governance team and therefore we are seeking a Legal Counsel Banking & Finance based in Delft, The Netherlands. The Legal Counsel will mainly support the treasury teams in the Netherlands and Switzerland, but will also work closely together with the other legal counsels across the Inter IKEA Group and more specifically the corporate legal counsel and head of group legal in the Netherlands.
 

About the job
This newly created role will provide legal advice, expertise and support to the treasury teams that will be setting up new banking relationships and cash management structures. This includes negotiating and drafting documentation related to treasury activities, such as LMA loan documentation, bilateral loans, intercompany loans, ISDA & GMRA agreements, cash management and cash pool structures, intercompany agreements covering  financing, financial risk management and payment factory services, guarantees (security agreements) and the needed corporate resolution related thereto. But it will also entail advising on, and monitoring of, and ensuring compliance with financial/corporate regulatory laws and legislation and engaging in KYC/UBO due diligence and processes.

Other tasks would be:

Leading projects and networks of expertise that are of group-wide importance, often in multiple jurisdictions.

Providing advice to other Inter IKEA teams as to banking & finance related legal questions.

Leading and working closely together with legal peers across Inter IKEA Group to strengthen and contribute to a strong and relevant legal function.

About you
We are looking for a hands-on and all-round Legal Counsel that has an overall, in-depth knowledge of banking, finance and treasury related legal matters and generalist knowledge of corporate law. Knowledge of competition law is a plus.

You have a practical and can-do mindset and you like to pick up the pen, and start creating. You like to work together with others, to lead projects and to further strengthen the legal function. In addition, you like to develop yourself and to quickly make new legal areas your own.

If you are a qualified lawyer (Master degree in Law), Dutch law is a plus, with at least 5 years proven working experience with the before mentioned agreements and topics, gained at a premier law firm and/or a multinational combined with being a flexible and collaborative team member who thrives in a fast pace and transforming environment, come and join Inter IKEA Group.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to create trust, build strong networks and relationships by being a team player who embraces collaboration with cross-functional teams in a diverse global business.

You need to be fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
