About the job
Reporting to the Market Operations Manager, the Market Safety and Security Manager will work closely across all units in Singapore and with various stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment for our customers, co-workers and visitors. As an active advocate, the individual will contribute to and foster a thriving culture where safety and security values and practices are integrated into every facet of the company, while supporting a fast-paced business environment. The Market Safety and Security Manager works closely with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the IKEA Brand and protect our assets. Staying up to date on local legislative developments and requirements, the Market Safety and Security Manager maintains an overall risk awareness and control culture as well as compliance with internal IKEA demands.
Safety and Security operations
Work with the retail Risk Manager to define and establish the relating operating procedures and work closely with the relevant authorities to secure national requirements
Ensure a safe and secure environment for co-workers and customers through training, audits and standards and national legal demands
Managing outsourced security relationships, liaising with approved vendors to ensure that specified duties are carried out and service standards are met
Being an active member of Emergency Response Team for the handling of any emergency case that may arise; provide appropriate action, documentation and follow-up according to the agreed store Emergency Management Plan
Identify areas prone to fraud and secure adequate controls are in place
Proactively identify emerging risks and ensure early involvement in new initiatives in unit
Secure that incidents are properly reported in the incident reported tool and to insurance companies, when applicable. Ensuring proper documentation and follow–up
Plan, Prepare, implement & follow up on crowd management / social distancing plan for each unit
Working closely together with the Safety and Security specialists and develop succession
Market level compliance
Support the adaption of local and national requirements to meet IKEA’s safety & security intended level of protection
Identify market specific safety and security hazards and incorporate preventive and protective measures and programs for these
Ensure the security operation and systems are developed, designed and installed to meet IKEA requirements
Build-ups/ rebuild support
Taking an active role in the design and build-up stage or rebuild of the store to support the implementation of the IKEA safety and security requirements
Define the safety and security arrangements needed and ensure those are considered during the design and construction phase of any project
Broad EHS knowledge with minimum 8 years of experience in related fields/ industry as a leader/ manager
Practical knowledge and experience of managing EHS across multiple units
Knowledge of and practical experience in fundamental physical security principles and concepts, including those involving the assessment and mitigation of security risks
Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear recommendations and solutions
Ability to influence at all levels of management and build trustful relationships
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
Experience in program/ project management
Experience of setting and implementing long-term strategic plans, setting budgets and follow-up on goals
Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to draft policies and procedures, including process mapping
Must be willing to be available and responsive to emergencies should any occur
